Member of the Haskell Family Passes On

Our community is joined by the somber news of the death of David Bohanon who passed this morning.

Bohanon majored in Business Administration at Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) and continued to contribute to the HINU community serving as an IT Specialist for 17 years. Students new and old will remember him for his colorful and lively spam email notifications, but those who remember Bohanon on campus will remember him for his involvement with the HINU band, leading HINU in its fight song, and the sounds of his horn playing taps.

This afternoon, HINU lit a fire in Bohanan’s honor. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Happy Valentine's Day from the Haskell Band!! It is a pleasure bringing pleasure to your ears!

  8. Oh Dave, it has been way too long. I’m sad to know that I won’t hear you riffing any more goofy lyrics to made-up songs. I remember many of them to this day. You could always make me laugh! You were a blessing and I hope to see your smiling face again someday.

  14. I remember David as a little boy when Mr. Bohanon would have us choral members practice at his home and David sat on the floor and listen. Melanie and David would give us snacks during our visit. I cherish those memories because Mr. Bohanon was an inspiration to me as well as his late wife Trudy. So sad to hear of his passing. I was a member of the Haskell Jr. College choral 1972-1974.
