Welcome Students, Faculty Staff and Administration.
“From on the ladder of an education,
you can see to help your Indian Nation.”
–Lyrics from Go My Son
Today we began a new chapter in our lives. There are many exciting events that will be happening this year on our campus, including the inauguration of our seventh President, the renewal of our accreditation by the Higher Learning Consortium and the 130th anniversary of our school. This year is a great opportunity for growth and positive change for everyone. New students, as you strive to reach your goals there are 4 things I encourage you to do. The first is ask questions, do not be afraid, because the only way you will find out, is to ask. The second is to get involved and let your voices be heard. There are many clubs, organizations and committees on our campus to which you may belong. The Student Senate has approximately 11 committees that need student input and action. The President’s Office has 11 committees that need student representation. The third is work hard, do your homework, go to class and participate. The fourth is have fun! You are in charge of how awesome your experience at Haskell will be. Make this one of the most memorable times in your life. Continuing students, we are looking at the light at the end of the tunnel! Let’s progress with the same rigor that has gotten us this far. Let us help the new additions to our Haskell family to succeed and grow by sharing our wisdom with them. Faculty, staff and administration, please assist and guide us so that we may achieve any goals we have set for ourselves. I am looking forward to working with all of you to promote/create positive change for the students of Haskell Indian Nations University! Let’s make this an exciting and productive year! Welcome one and all! If you have any questions, ideas or concerns please visit with us in the Student Senate Office located in the Stidham Student Union building.
