I Don’t Know, You Just So Pretty
what is beauty
if not for only skin deep?
are they…
the images
the lives
the emotions
we chase in our sleep?
whether for shame
or love-filled secrets we keep?
is it so beyond our reach
like the ocean is deep?
is it true dear God,
for what I sow
shall I surely reap?
and from those nightmares come true
shall I surely weep?
for nigh is the end,
I declare my sheep.
from what heavenly vessel
dost thou body do seep?
for overfilling my cup
thou dost treat.
with silk upon caramel
dost thou speak.
eyes alive with bright chandeliers,
far from near
to anything I’ve ever seen.
but with a fearful distance I do remain.

escape into the music
let it lull away your pain
ease your mind of troubles
stay in from the rain
lie by lies of butterflies
I see the depths of your pain
shaky smiles and wondering eyes
cheeks streaked by tears stained

Masks, Masks, Everywhere a Mask
everyone wore masks.
you should see how new they act.
with a change of face
quite a change of pace
they did make.
the masks began to move
with lively eyes did drive
anonymity in its purest form
so they kept their masks on
and danced.
the passion, the anger,
quite a sight it was to see.
